IndiGo is low budget airline of India and headquartered located at Gurgaon Haryana. It is the biggest airline in India by travelers carried and fleet size with a 48.4% domestic market share as of October 2019 and also the biggest personage Asian low-cost carrier in terms of jet fleet size and passengers carried, and the sixth largest carrier in Asia with over 64 million travelers carried in financial year 2018-19. IndoGo operates flights to 60 domestic and 22 international destinations. It has its principal hub at Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi.
It was founded as a private company by InterGlobe Enterprises, a United States-based expatriate Indian in 2006. It took release of its first aircraft in July 2006 and commenced operations after one month. The airline has become the biggest Indian carrier by passenger market share in 2012. It is public company in November 2015.
IndiGo provides only economy class seating due to low cost airlines. It has very low fares so it does not provide gracious meals on any of its flights, though it does have a buy-on board in-flight meal programme. There is no entertainment in flights. Only Hello 6E magazine is published by IndiG which is available for travelers to read. It provides premium services, such as a pre-assigned seat, multiple cancellations and priority check-in, to its passengers who are willing to pay a higher fare. In Sept 2019 Indigo Company announced its tie up with SonyLIV on demand video app for providing its fliers with entertainment options at the airport and in flight.
Indigo flight has free checked baggage allowance for each adult and child includes: regular fare: 15 kgs, return fare: 15 kgs. The dimensions of box or bags should not exceed 55cmX35cmX25cm (62 inches) in the sum of length, breadth and width.
